I’m Ren Blakely, a UI/UX Designer.
Nice to meet you!
I’m passionate about creating apps and websites that look and function their best. My favorite parts of the design process are user interfaces and branding, where I add creative touches like unique color palettes and my illustration skills.
Currently, I work at Barnes & Noble as a UI Designer on both SparkNotes and Barnes & Noble.
When I’m not mapping out task flows in Miro, sketching logo ideas, or designing interfaces in Figma, you can find me walking my shiba inu 🐕, going on a hike 🏔, or cooking delicious food 🥘
Why UI/UX Design?
Before starting on the path to become a UI/UX designer, I worked for 10 years at a job in Hollywood doing scanning, photo restoration, and digital archiving. I was also self-taught in designing and coding websites for freelance clients. When I learned about UX design, I immediately fell in love with it. UX design both allows me to explore solutions to problems in a visual way, and makes me feel creatively fulfilled. I took a huge chance in moving from my hometown of Los Angeles to Seattle in 2021 to pursue a career in UI/UX design, but I believe I have finally found my calling!
